i was wondering what use the spim compiler had been put to, and
if this use is still active. does anyone know?

Inferno emu for the Linksys WRT55G is built with the spim compiler - see
/n/sources/contrib/miller/inferno/linksys

Probably not very "active".

Interesting, I have that router but wanted for some time to replace it
with something more modern. Now I have an added incentive to do so.

beware... they came in flavours, some of which designed to stop fun.

mine still spims fine after a decade. not sure why i have an unopened spare.
